Teachers, just a quick reminder about this scholarship. The
application needs to be postmark by tomorrow. If you have a female
student starting at UGA this summer or fall, then please pass this on
to them.

Thanks,
Blane

Sigma Alpha is a professional agricultural sorority for women with a
sincere interest in agriculture. The women of Sigma Alpha strive to
promote scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship among its
members. The University of Georgia Alpha Omicron chapter of Sigma
Alpha began in September of 2000 and since then has won several awards
at the national level, including awards in public service, sisterhood,
leadership, and professional development. In addition, the Alpha
Omicron chapter received the Founder’s Cup in 2003, 2004, and 2005
naming it the best Sigma Alpha chapter in the nation.

The women of Sigma Alpha have chosen to offer a scholarship to one
female high school senior entering into the University of Georgia in
the Fall of 2009. The amount of the scholarship is $500 and will be
paid during the Spring 2011 semester after the student is officially
accepted and enrolled full-time at the University of Georgia.
Selection will be based on the student’s scholastic achievement,
leadership ability, interest in agriculture, and extracurricular
involvement as evidenced by high school or related activities.
