Hi all you Clavagellidae experts!  Well, I hope there is ONE out there
somewhere?  I have a "watering pot" shell 310 mm in length, from Western
Australia.  It was identified by the collector as Brechites giganteus.  I
have been unable to confirm the ID with certainty.  Ross Mayhew has posted a
picture of the beast on his website.  Can anyone tell me if this thing is B.
giganteus?  If not, what it might be?  And, if it IS B. giganteus, why
doesn't it have the "ruffles" around the open end, which are usually shown in
pictures of that species?  Immature??
