Dear Conchlers,

I give this version a try to reach you.

Dear Conchlers,

first best shelling greetings again from Innsbruck. To save my honour a =
new friend of England (see address
below) gave me the permission to send this attachment to you all, as he =
is more entomologist and not
malacologist and not joined to Conch-l. Please see therefore his e-mail =
and attachment on this way and
I hope you can open it.
Helmut from Innsbruck

Dear Helmut,
That is sound news. I will collect some more specimens for you as soon =
as I
am able.
I have collected specimens last week from Alton Castle and will send you =
a
cross section of the samples in the next week.
As usual, if I put numbers on the respctive containers can you e-mail me =
the
relavent identification info, as this would help my collections for the
Castle.
I was very saddened by the e-mail that somebody sent to you on the Conch-=
L,
and so I wrote a reply on your behalf but the server said that I could =
not
respond as I was not subscribed. I have attached the letter to this e-mai=
l
if you can post it on my behalf I would be V.grateful.

P.s. Do not unsubscribe to the list because of one unsensitve remark from
some one who isn't important, there are hundreds of people who need your
expertise and help. I would be immensly saddened if you decided to stop
helping people.

Best Wishes,
Andy.

Dear all, As you may or may not be aware recently Mr Helmut Nisters from Innsbruck has recieved some pretty harsh treatment at the hands of other members of the Conch-list. I have had the opportunity to exchange information & specimens with him, and would like to assure the list that the Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum in Innsbruck does exist and is a very fine institution thanks to his and his Mothers dedication and time. I have recieved much help and many fine examples of land molluscs from him with excellent data that I will use to help educate children who live mostly in the inner cities of Great Britain and would never otherwise get the opportunity to see such fine specimens. It should not be seen as 'begging' to ask for specimens from other members of the list, as surley helping one another with our collections and studies is the way in which we learn more about these remarkable creatures, and are thus able to try and help conserve them better. Finally it would help us all to remember that Helmut is Austrian - and English is not his native tongue, he is not offensive deliberately, he merely tries to communicate in a foreign tongue with a little sense of humour. Give him a break!
