Aloha!
I think you're refering to Cypraea musumea f. lacrimula sp. nov. This was
brought to light by the efforts of Felix Lorenz. Check his awesome site at
www.cowries.net/. Then scroll down to Notadusta. He confirms identity of
musumea, katsuea, & lacrimula. Shape, teeth, fossula, & teeth staining are
enhanced for ID.
I have multiple specimens of all three species & they are identical to the
comparative descriptions mentioned by Lorenz. Lacrimula has recently became
visible due to recent deep dredging efforts off the Philippines between the
Bohol Sea & North Sulu Sea. Hope this helps.      Mahalo! Chris Takahashi
