Dear Cecil and others,

Macroschisma munita Iredale 1940 is most likely a synonym of M. producta
and this is indeed the shell you figured. What I find more interesting
about your shell is the locality. According to the Australian Museum
collection, and Wilson (Australian Marine Shells) is does not occur further
north than Port Hedland (for the uninitiated, this is about 600km south of
Broome). If your locality is not an error, this is an range extension
