Here is the English version
of my answer.
Mactra corallina belongs to Mactra stultorum.
But there is another Mactra in the Mediterranean and Atlantic again, which
Wolfgang Fischer
not nominated. Mactra glauca (Born, 1778). It is existing mainly in Spain
and Portugal.
and is the largest. Mactra stultorum could be pure white or slightly brown
with violet radiats, sometimes quite flat, but also very swollen and
distorted (freaks). Freak shells are quite common in the
Adriatic. At the moment I don't have the book of F. Nordsieck at the hand,
but as
Mactra stultorum and corallina have the same author, Linnaeus, I can't tell
you the opinion
of Nordsieck and what he writes about it.

Mactra corallina gehört zu Mactra stultorum.
Es gibt noch Mactra glauca (Born, 1778) in Spanien und Portugal. Sie ist
die grösste des Mactra-Genus.
Mactra stultorum kann weiss bis leicht bräunlich mit violetten Strahlen
sein, ziemlich flach, aber auch
ziemlich aufgeblasen und kann Verkrüppelungen aufweisen.
In der Sammlung des Museums und meiner Privatsammlung sind sowohl
Mactra stultorum und
Mactra glauca vertreten.
Im Moment habe ich F. Nordsieck nicht bei mir, sondern im Museum. Leider
weiss ich daher nicht,
welche Arten er anführt. Mactra stultorum und Mactra corallina glaube ich
haben bei Linnaeus als
Autor, aber meist wird sie unter Mactra stultorum geführt.

Es gibt drei rezente Mactra Arten in Europa.

Mactra stultorum, Mactra corallina, Mactra olorina Philippi 1846

Mactra cinerea ist ein Synonym von Mactra stultorum. Mactra olorina
habe ich bis jetzt noch nicht gesehen.
