 I have a question.
I acquired a "Pecten" marybellae at the auction. Can someone give me the
correct genus, author, and date?

I have another question about it, but my son wants the machine, so I will
pursue it later.

 Thanks,
 Linda

Dear Linda,
The correct name is Semipallium marybellae Raines, 1996 and described in La
Conchiglia in August 1996.

AS per the question on the range of Volachlamys tranquebaricus (Gmelin,
1791), the range I have listed is Philippine Islands to Sri Lanka. If there
is other information on this I would also like to know it to update my
records.
My guess is it is more common in India and the Philippine Islands may be a
guess on someones part or it may be just an odd specimen that wandered that
far, or a mis-identification but it is not common in the Philippines.
Volachlamys cummingii is supposed to come from Australia, while V. hirasei
is from Japan, V. singaporina from Malaysia to Northern Australia, V. fultoni
from southern Mozambique to East London south Africa.
  Hope this helps,
        Carole Marshall
