Hello Marie,

I live in San Roque near Gibraltar.

I don´t know how many stops you will have from Barcelona to Gibraltar but I
can say you that you will have a good beach-hunt but it depends on the
characteristics of each beach. There are beaches with many shells but there
are others with nothing to find. For example here in the Bay of Algeciras
there are one beach called Playa de Getares (Algeciras) (there is a work
based in this beach with some new species by Aartsen, Menkhorst &
Gittenberger) but during a walk you only can find some shells, on the other
hand in the Bay of Algeciras too it is Puente Mayorga (San Roque), this one
has many shells during a walk.
Malaga (province) that it is near San Roque has points with thousands and
thousands of shells but there are others with nothing. Many factors make
this differences between continuos places but the most important I think
it´s that the tourism makes that a natural beautiful place becomes in a non
natural beautiful place with beaches with sand from Sahara for example.

Good luck, and enjoy our natural and non natural places, both are
marvellous, the sun, the food, the people... I always think that I live in
one of the most beautiful places, but this it´s only my opinion.

Regards, Victoriano
