Dear David and others,

I would like to add that sending small packages via surface mail is just
not worth the meagre saving. If the intended recipient doesn't get edgy
with you because he/she didn't realise it would take so long (up to five
months!), the package is much more likely to get lost or damaged when sent
surface mail. Surface mail is excellent for large boxes of heavy things
where the recipient realises it takes a long time and doesn't mind waiting.
For everything else, use air mail, especially when sending shells
