Though Clench and others may not have a 100% taxanomic track record, that
is, species descriptions that fall into the abyss of molluscan synonymy,
his record of validly described non-marine species is exceptionally high.
Clench was one of the most highly regarded land and freshwater mollucan
researchers of his time. Petuch must have had an ironic slip of the tongue!
