At the 1942 Academy Awards, a giant squid won an Oscar for Reap the Wild
Wind. Anything that kills John Wayne, especially while diving, deserves
an Oscar. While this recognition is certainly appreciated, it does
little to assuage the entertainment industry's long history of ignoring
the contribution of cephalopods. The only remedy is to demand that all
forms or entertainment show cephalopods in a consistently positive
light, and that they be equally represented in all TV, movies, music,
and stage productions. Boycott entertainment that ignores cephalopods.
