I have used both magnifiers and microscopes with my fuji mx-1200 digital
camera.  This camera then works well with objects in the .5 to 1 cm range.
It takes a lot of trial and error to get the focus right, but the results
can be very interesting.

As for digital zoom, if the data is not there to begin with, it will not be
there after any form of digital processing. the best way is to get the
highest quality photo possible, and work down from there.

If anyone would like to see examples of photos that i have taken, write me
off list
