Hi and Happy New Year, Everyone!

I am interested in knowing how the leucodon was faked.  Was it a different murex that had been "reshaped" and painted, or was it a bad leucodon with the color enhanced with paint?  I am hoping to add a leucodon to my collection at some point but have deliberately steered away from the Philippine companies and another ebay dealer whose prices are consistently whoppers.
