There was an item on NPR this evening about investigation of the sea
bottom where an Antarctic ice shelf the size of Lake Ontario broke off.
There's an undulating mat of bacteria and large clams (didn't say how
large). Apparently, there are cold vents with methane seepage
supporting the bacteria.
Anyone know of more details about the clams?
