Dear all!
As someone mentioned Turbo (Marmarostoma) argyrostomus Linnaeus 1758 in a
recent mail, I looked at the specimen I got from the Red Sea. In her book on
the area, Doreen Sharabati has only Turbo (Marmarostoma) radiatus Gmelin
1791, giving the structure of the operculum as distinctive feature.
Now, how does one tell the difference between the two species when there is
no operculum left with the shell?
Greetings from Germany
Michael
