It seems like a slow news day so I thought I would post a few ramblings,
comments, questions, etc. to the group.

The first question was prompted by a movie I rented last night called "Dark
City"; a Sci-fi movie with some imaginative special effects where (without
giving anything away) one of the "bright spots" of the "Dark City" was a
place called "Shell Beach". My question to the group is:

What is your favorite mollusc/mollusk scene in a movie? Since I posted the
question, I will go first. Mine has to be the amputation of a prisoners
fingers with a sharp unionid (Anodonta) shell by Native Amercians in the
highly entertaining film about early missionary explorers in North America
called "The Black Robe".

Another that comes to mind is the Don Knotts classic animated "Incredible
Mister Limpet". I'm sure you all have your favorites and I would like to
hear about them.

My second question, gripe, suggestion is:

Many people have posted questions on "Where is the best place to collect
when I'm in..........
It seem like a great project for an enthusiastic webmaster to post a list
of countries (or perhaps a map of the world) where one could click on a
country/state and come up with a list of suggested places to collect. Also
included could be a list of restrictions, rules laws, etc. about the place
in question. Just an idea, but one that would be very popular to the group
I'm sure. I assume the drawback here is that nobody like to give away the
location of their favorite secret fishing hole so this may not work.
Something to think about.

Next. Someone has posted this suggestion before, but it would be nice for
those posting to the list to have a SHORT sign off with the city and
country of the sender. I think it is very interesteg to see where everyone
is from and I can't always tell from the e-mail address.

Enough rambling. Back to work.
