Hi Andrew et al

There appears to be lots of good anatomical and DNA data to support
the break up of the various freshwater cerithioids into families
etc.  To be sure there are still a bunch of problems as well but hey
what's new in that.

As for the family name Harry has covered that in his email. In fact
Juga which is found on the west coast of the USA is more closely
related to taxa found in Korea etc than it is to the rest of the
Pleurocerids found in the eastern half of the US.

However, I have just reread the paragraph in the Southern Synthesis
and it says groups that were "once" included in the Thiaridae include
Melanopsidae and Pachychilidae. Therefore the Southern Synthesis is
not advocating that the Pachychilidae/Pleuroceridae should be treated
as part of the Thiaridae.
