For those with some interest in fossil (or almost-fossilized)
Cypraea, I have an article which the HAWAIIAN SHELL NEWS printed,
in the early 90s, in my main homepage area at

http://www.oaktree.net/CAPUTART.HTM

It compares the current population of Snakehead cowries at Makua
to those from the previous galacial interlude (Sangamon or whatever
it is called at present).

Also, I have posted another year of articles from the SHELL NEWS
in the Archive site of THE CAPTURED COWRY at
http://www.geocities.com/~makuabob/
The articles now cover the span from January of 1960 through January
of 1982.

Aloha,

makuabob (a.k.a. Bob Dayle)
