I agree with you on no 4, but am not at all sure on no 3.

Eddy Hardy's problem is that he seems to rely on contributors for correct
identifications, but you can't blame him; he has, after all, put together
a fairly exhaustive menu of photographs of all collectable shells,
worldwide, with alternatives. That's a very major contribution to
conchology, regardless of minor errors.
