Dear Conch-lers,

I was wondering if anyone out there had any ideas on how to clean
Rose-Bengal stain out of shells. I have a beautiful Thyasira flexuosa
bivalve that was originally stored in stained formalin. The shell is stained
pink and I would like to clean it before sending it off to Tom Rice.

On another topic, I defrosted a bag of inverts sent to me from a fishing
boat today. While most of it was crabbed and badly damaged Colus halli,
there was an absolutely perfect Buccinum scalariforme included, perc and
all. How it survived the trip, I don't know. I was quite pleased!

   Thank you,

    Aaron
