I hit a wrong key and had to start over. All you want to know about Florida
Fossil Formations, and many fossils, can be found in the book, Florida's
Fossils, by Robin
C. Brown. There are many other good references, like A Guide For Identifying
Fossils Shells And Corals,  by Lelia and William Brayfield.
S. leidyi is a large, thick and heavy shell about 85 mm long. It has an elevated
spire and a symmetrically curved wing. Contact me if you need more.
