A specimen of Papustyla pulcherrima in Academy's collection shows a change
from green to yellow in the last half whorl. Inspection under the microscope
shows that the change was gradual and natural: the microsculpture is intact.

We also have white and yellow shells that are green internally, under the
parietal callus. As Harry Lee pointed out, this allows diagnosis of induced
versus natural occurrence of these colors
