When I was in the Seychelles in October 1995 I brought back home
(Portugal) a hand bag of shells. I collected 2 to 3 specimens of any
specie I could find and no problems what so ever with costumes. Also met
an Italian shell collector who was also on vacations there and he said
he had been shelling in the Seychelles year after year (7 years total).
Also you can find people shelling shells (some quit rare) in Victoria
the Capital. There are though certain areas totally protected where
shelling activities are forbidden. Then again, we are now in 1999 ....
