Scott;
        When you are the only non-fisherman on a boat, you don't usually get to
pick music you can live with !! (and stucturally-speaking, most country
and western and most "extreme" forms of rock are actually quite similar
- I IV V V7 IIIm VIm - simple chords endlessly and often mindlessly
repeated in not-so-novel sequences, unimaginatively strophic with
seldom-changing refrains - now the Beatles - THEY wrote music even a
musicologist can love!!! (unfortunately, not too many Nova Scotia
scallopers dig the ***really*** cool cats - Miles Davis, Phelonius Monk,
Dave Brubeck, Lenny Bro - these are unknown in the fishing crowd
(likewise Josquin, Pergolesi, Gabrielli, Ockeghem, Machaud, Thomas Luigi
de Vittoria, Messien (check out Quartet For the End of Time!!) , Billy
Joel (ok some may have heard of him!).....) But it grows later than you
think, so enjoy yourself and i think this message is wandering
off-topic......did anyone ever write music about shells (there, i said
the magic word!!)?
