That Argonauta would stay with its eggs after laying them also makes sense
because Argonauta are Octopods, and other Octopods, though they don't create
elaborate egg cases, are known not only to remain with their eggs, but to
actually care for them, brushing silt off them, fanning water over them, and
defending them from predators.  Octopus are caring mommies.
