Forms? I get the impression they are different species. I took a
closer look at them and there are other differences as well. The siphon
of the darker tun with defined spiral sculpture is straighter and it has
a white mouth. The Caribbean shell will at least have a light brown
mouth. Of course, I have a very limited amount of tuns to study.
I guess it really depends on whether you are a lumper or a splitter. I
tend to be on the splitting side. Many synominized shells have
consistent differences.
