Dear Paul,
In the older literature Nassa has been used world-wide to indicate
Nassarius. At the same time Jopas was used for present day Nassa. This
confusion was cleared when the correct names were applied according to the
type species of both Nassarius and Nassa. Today both names are used in their
correct name world-wide.
Regards,
Henk K. Mienis
