The  "Pleurodonte caracolla" shell, shown at the web address below, was
included within a various group of identified pulmonate species in the
Archerd Shell Collection. It was collected in Cuba in the 1960s. This shell
has quite different markings than does the "Pleurodonte caracolla (Linn.,
1758)" shown on p. 140 of Abbott's "Compendium of Landshells," c. 1989,
leading us to question accuracy of its ID. There is no tooth on the interior
lip.
