While I agree the Tellinidae are quite colorful I will put my beloved
Pectinidae up against your Tellinidae as the most colorful bivalve family.
For variations in disc shape, ribbing structure, microsculpture and color,
I believe the Pectinidae can't be surpassed.

Good hunting on your trip and let me know what Pectinidae you find up
North.
