Last weekend, I visited an international supermarket called Food World, built in the space of a former Winn-Dixie.

In the frozen section, there was a 2 pound bag of frozen meat for something like 46 dollars. The label said it was Conchalepas conchalepas from Chile. I had to look that up on Google and it's "False Abalone."

Does anyone know its range and anything about the harvesting? My Spanish is not good enough to easily translate the material online but it looks like officials have been seizing shipments. Is it getting scarce?
