I believe John is correct in these being the D. v. roemeri variety.
The Texas form is different from the Florida form.
I can send you a pic of a lot it you like.

Yes, I thought about variabilis, but these shells here are very narrow and
do not look like the others specimens of variabilis I have.

They look like what I have as Donax variabilis roemeri Philippi, 1849 from
Texas. Am. Seashells N.
5754 (the image is useless).
They are the only ones in my collection that have that peculiar indentation
at the ventral margin.
Mine came from off Corpus Christi
