Hi, Everyone!

I was reviewing a series of Haliotis iris that I got from an old collection, and I discovered one that is freaky, i.e., not only are there only two open holes, but they are far removed (by about 2 inches of a roughly 6 inch shell) from the edge. The back is so encrusted that it impossible to detect if there are any other closed holes. This was in a series of the species from four different New Zealand localities and is the only one left (I traded some to a good friend) of the two I had supposedly from Island Bay, Wellington, New Zealand.

I do finally have a digital camera, so I could photograph the shell and send you the image off list. I have searched the Compendium and Eddie Hardy's list, and this one is definitely not like anything there.

Thanks,
Linda
