Take a close look at your 1(17) number.  Upon investigation, I have a
bound set of pages that starts with p. 57-8 of No. 17 (Growth of the
Operculum in Murex is the heading) and then p. 58 has a caption of
"Review of the Genera completed for the Western Atlantic", noting that
no. 18 will wrap up volume 1 with addenda about the genera already
covered and that wartime paper shortages limited the length of no. 18.
 No. 18 then starts in earnest on the next page.  There are six pages
of addenda and then p. 7-14 are an index to Johnsonia vol. 1.
