Vol. 3, no. 9 of the Bulletin of the Institute of Malacology Tokyo has a
cover date of February 20, 2008.  The subspecies you mention was described
by Daniel R. Goodwin from a single specimen taken from a lobster trap in
about 180 meters off "Marco or Dowsett Reef,... Leeward Islands
(north-western Hawaiian Islands)."

It was named from a single specimen, not standard procedure for establishing
a subspecies!
