I suspect the computer hardware  ID number is now variable or
has a name attached.  Likely guards are in effect keeping outsiders
from getting to computers by number.  That is an easy way for those
who kill files and scramble web sites.  Someone there likely can help.

The tilde in front of molluscs is a user name account in Unix.
Not being a person helps as those accounts vaporize as we do.
