Your email message really brought the past back to life. We new Helen
Burton quite well as related to shell hobby. She was a very special
person who we associated with at club meetings, local shell related
trips, shell shows etc. Each year or so she would take a cruise or
make a trip to another country. We enjoyed listening to the stories
of these trips but there is one that immediately comes to mind. She
was on a cruise to the South Pole and their trip had trouble and as we
remember the story all abandoned ship and were in life boats for a
period of hours before they were rescued. She was at an advanced age
at this time and we were so susrprised at what she went through and
yet had no ill effects.

Laura remembers that Helen had an exquisite crown made of seashells.
We have no idea what happened to this item. We left the San Francisco
Bay Area in 1975 and do not remember if she had passed away before we
left or when.

That's about all we can remember at this time but we are sure now that
Helen has been recaptured in our memory we will be thinking of her for
awhile.

Have a great day.
