Information about the shell fauna on that area for future generations will mostly come from private collections - and Fish & Wild
Life is more concerned about our hobby instead of chasing those who are the real villains...

Almost two months before this accident happened I had written a letter to my Representative and Indiana Senators opposing the
drilling on the west and east coasts.  I included images of Busycon from Texas that had been impacted in the Mexican oil spill that
hit the Texas Gulf coast when I lived there.  I even sent images that I had on Flickr to them.I didn't even get a polite, "Thank you
for expressing your view" letter-NOBODY wanted to listen.  In fact it was almost deemed 'unpatriotic' to even suggest as much. If
there is to be any good to come from this mess, it is that now a lot more people are listening and willing to consider the
implications of these actions.  We may need fuel, but there has to be more responsibility and accountability of the consequences of
not doing things right.
