Dear colleagues,

With the aim of increasing the quantity and quality of information on
bivalves available through the Encyclopedia of Life (www.eol.org),
Rüdiger Bieler, Paula Mikkelsen and I have set up a communal project
named "eBivalvia" (http://ebivalvia.lifedesks.org). The website serves
as a hub for scientists, students, shell collectors and others with an
interest in bivalves to submit and manage data on the group, including
images and bibliographic resources. It currently holds information in
English and Portuguese, but support for additional languages can be
added if there is interest.

To find out more about the project, please visit the website and
browse the links on the left navigation panel. If you would like to
participate, please click the link "Create new account".

Contributing to eBivalvia and EOL is a great way to boost the outreach
component of your research project. It is also particularly attractive
to students, who can list their contribution as online publications
(both websites give full attribution to authors).

Best regards,
André
