I don't want to build a thread larger than it should, but please consider:

1. Wiki pages are built by those who think or those who know. I have
fixed a couple of pages myself.
With this in mind, consider the authors making the wiki pages from
the results they generated in the book - Making more 'fame'.

2. Consider a book that is 50 pages longer than it should be or could be
printed for a price that would sale.....
The cutting board and shredder is often by a person that didn't
write the book. An Editor who destroyed the intent of the book.

3. Some are just out for a fast (monetary element). e.g. buck. (as in a
dollar bill)

I've written for several magazines. One, who only got one article mind
you, hacked my short paper in just the wrong places.

The other moved a paragraph and requested a graphic. That one was
published in their trade magazine in the English speaking,
German speaking (I can almost read that one) and in Japanese and Chinese
speaking countries. It was nice since I was paid
for each language as if it were a new article.
