Dear Conch-L'ers,
I have been curious about the identity of two Calliostomas in my
collection. Identification would be appreciated of course. One is a
Calliostoma which is simialar to C. zizyphinum. It is large, 39mm with
a shade of mostly dark red with some white. It mainly differs from C.
zizyphinum with its beaded spiral cords on the dorsal side. While C.
zizyphinum has smooth spiral cords. Locality unknown.
The second one is probably a pure white C. nepheloide. C. nepheloide is
found off Panama. Has anyone ever seen a pure white one? Locality
unknown.
