For #8, there's a good chance that the shells would be polished pearl
oysters, Pinctada or Pteria. They were heavily exploited by the
Spanish in several parts of the New World.
There are various oysters similar to 9, but the dark greenish
appearance of the matrix suggests Ostrea sinuosa Rogers and Rogers,
1837, a common fossil in the general vicinity of the Potomac River
downstream of Washington, DC. Where was it found?
