Hello Marlo,
Another excellent series on a species that most of us take for granted!
I have some unique specimens from Sarasota that I personally collected in
1975
They range in size from about 120 to over 150mm in size and are mostly
white.
The largest one has a double row of spines at the shoulder.
I also just received two specimens of Oliva sayana from Padre Island, Texas.
(form texana)
I can send you photos and exact data.
Contact me on my regular email at: [log in to unmask]
I am located in Central Florida.
Best wishes,
Dennis Sargent

I put off addressing this shell too long. I believe it may well be present
in every county in Florida. However, we have not been able to document it
as so. So, again I am seeking help and assistance from those who have
first-hand or reliable knowledge of this shell being collected in the 10
Florida coastal counties not included in my presentation. It includes 120
slides illustrating 129 specimens from 25 of Florida’s 35 coastal counties.
The file is large, so it may take a few seconds to download. Comments are
definitely solicited (including pointing out errors – I’m not the greatest
proof reader).

Some time ago I posted a presentation of Oliva sayana.
http://z14.invisionfree.com/Conchologist_Forum/index.php?showtopic=156 I
would still like to hear from those who have specimens of this shell from
Texas, the Gulf states or Florida counties not represented to share for
addition to the presentation.
