Subject: collector Sal Buccini
Hi fellow Conchlers,
I bought a shell at the Pacific Northwest Shell Club auction about a year
ago. It is an unusually large Macrocypraea cervus [144 mm]. The collector
was listed as Sal Buccini from S.C. {South Carolina}. There was no data on
the location for this shell unfortunately. It was originally from the
Steve Welty collection probably collected in the 1960's or 1970's and traded
to Steve prior to 1980 [just a guess here]. Does anyone have any
information about this collector or generally where a shell this large may
have been collected from? Thanks,
Bert Bartleson, Olympia, WA
