in case anyone is interested here is a species list from five recent
beachcombing trips by a few members of the (inactive) Long Island
Shell Club to Welwyn Preserve, Glen Cove, on the north shore of
Nassau County (western Long Island Sound). All visits took place from
Nov- January, 2010-2012. Twenty eight marine species are listed
below. Emerson and Jacobson, in Shells from Cape Cod to Cape May
listed 35 marine species from nearby Bayville. We don't know the
extent of their sampling...
