Hi, Ellen!
There are three websites that I have used in the past but two of them are not working now, and the third is difficult to navigate. However, if he would like to visit a shell museum, there is a good private one: Min Molluscan Institute. I have never been there myself, but the owner is a retired businessman who has the largest shell collection in Korea.
I love kimchi, and also kalbi, the thin strips of beef or pork you can barbecue at your table in a restaurant and eat wrapped with various side dishes on a lettuce leaf.
All the best from Jeju Island!

Ron,
Diverging a
bit from your topic, is there a Korean shell site you'd
recommend? My son is over in Seoul. He has tasted of the
kimchee ( Think Persephone and her pomegranate) he spends
nine months out of every twelve in Korea. It'd be fun to
let him know about the shells there.

Hi,
everyone!
I am currently editing a monograph on the Korean Trochidae.
I'm wondering if anyone can enlighten me on the status
of Chlorostoma argyrostoma sublaevis (Pilsbry, 1904). This
name keeps popping up in the literature here, and I suspect
that it may be a synonym.
If anyone can help me determine whether or not this name is
valid, or point me to someone who can help me, I would
greatly appreciate it.
All the best!
