Hello again,
The last thing I did before I went to bed last night was send off a few
comments about your unidentified shells. The first thing that popped into
my head when I opened my eyes this morning (believe it or not) was that I
forgot to mention one of them. The other shell is a tall-spired muricid
that looks pretty eroded. Based on the general shape of the shell, and what
sculpture can be seen, I think it may be a weathered Murex (Chicoreus)
capucinus Lamarck. This could be from Australia, or from just about
anywhere in the Indo-Pacific region.
