I agree with your comments on the Pectinidae. Though the gastropoda
tend to be the popular group in the molluscan world, I believe there is a
committed core group on Conch-L that are Pectinidae afficianados. Beside
the recent forms, the fossil species, though not colorful, show truly
fantastic variations in ribbing patterns.
