Dear all,

Thank you very much for the response about the mermaids comb. I have been out of office for a week (we had a full solar eclipse in the northern part of South Africa and we went to experience it!) and couldn't answer sooner.

It is not mollusc related, but as it is found on beaches and I got the request for identification from one of the Strandloper readers, I thought it should be answered. A short article will appear in the magazine, and some of your answers will feature. If you have an objection about this, please advise me and I won't put it in.

Regards, Kobie
