I received this off-list email also. But I did a virus scan and had
nothing!

Sorry to bother the list with this email, but I wanted to inform everyone
that I've received a number of fraudulent off-list emails each attached with
a newly circulated email virus. The reason I bother to mention this is that
the copies I've received use list member's email addresses as the sender,
including my own. All are aliases masking the real sender. They were
probably spidered off the Listserv. Below is a copy of one of these
sendings. The subject line of all that I received is "Hi".

P.S. - To make this email shell-related, on March 2, 2004, the one-hour
"Martha Stewart Living" syndicated television program will have a lead
segment dealing with conchology. The entire show will have an ocean/aquatic
theme. Check your local listings for time and channel. The program airs on
141 stations across the United States including:

WBBM-TV CBS-2 Chicago 12:37AM;
KYW-TV  CBS-3 Philadelphia 1:30AM;
KPIX-TV CBS-5 San Francisco 9:00AM;
WCBS-TV CBS-2 New York 2:07AM;
KCBS-TV CBS-2 Los Angeles 1:35AM & 5:30AM;
KSDK-TV CBS-5 St. Louis 10:00AM & 2:00AM;
WJXX-TV ABC-25 Jacksonville,FL 9:00AM;

The entire listing of television stations can be found here:
http://a444.g.akamai.net/7/444/703/20040105222425/www.marthastewart.com/imag
es/pdf/omniguide_0304.pdf

Given Martha Stewart's recent troubles, I think it is great that she and her
producers are bothering to giving our often over-looked hobby some national
exposure. It may be time for local shell clubs to spruce up their Web
sites. The Martha Stewart Web site will be listing the COA "Conch-Net" Web
site as one of the conchology resources, which links to many of your club
Web sites. A URL listing on her Web site has been known to generate
tens-of-thousands of hits for a featured Web site. Here may be a chance to
find new members in your area. One of the themes she will talk about is
joining a shell club to learn more about our hobby.
