This site is meant to become a point of reference in the study and the
identification of all marine shells of the Mediterranean. All species
are identified by photographies and sketches that facilitate a more
specialized acquaintance. Every form is inserted on a database that
allows the search of an entire family, species or simply variety,
facilitating the location of the searched shell. It's also possible to
extrapolate in a new window the shell of interest, allowing the
comparation with an other shell, to the aim to analyzing diversities
and analogies. Currently we are loading the first families of BILVALVI,
but it is our desire to complete the entire catalogue of the shells of
the Mediterranean. We would like to have Your judgment on this plan
that can motivate us in the big job that is waiting for us.

Thanks and good visit.

Marco and Guido Arduino
